The God of Destruction has its sights set on Zed’s Netherworld, and only Zed (Brandon Winckler), with the help of his dog Cerberus (Jason Marnocha), has the power to stop it. Maybe.
It depends, since no one in the Netherworld knows what the God of Destruction is or what it wants.
Disgaea 6 adds The Juice Bar, where players can dole out Mana for leveling up skills and the like, but it’s also where characters who didn’t participate in combat can get a portion of experience points.
Another new system is the D-Merit system. Players complete objectives to earn D-Merit points, which can then be exchanged for Karma and other stat-enhancing items.
Evilities return from previous games, still functioning as equippable enhancements and abilities. As always, key characters have their own unique Evilities. Zed, for example, gets his damage output increased every time he Super Reincarnates, while new character Princess Melodia’s (Kelly Baskin) Heroine Spirit boosts her male allies’ attack power.
Another newcomer is Piyori, the first female leader of the Prism Rangers. Her unique Evility is Hero Knowledge, where her strength increases by two every time her HP decreases by one.
Along with classic returning characters such as Prinnies and dragons, Disgaea 6 introduces new monsters. Two additions are the Evil Eye, a cow demon predisposed to beating you down, and Clawed Shell, a crab and a gentleman.
Disgaea 6 releases Summer 2021 and is currently planned as a Nintendo Switch exclusive. There will surely be more news on the anticipated JRPG as we get closer to release, so stay tuned.
