Octopath Traveler was formerly a Nintendo Switch exclusive when it released in 2019. Then Square Enix launched a PC port in 2020, but this marks the first time Octopath Traveler — and a newer Square Enix RPG in general — is playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. We called Octopath Traveler a “return to form” for Square Enix and a JRPG with both “style and class.”

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition (PC), Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (PC, console, cloud), and Genesis Noir (PC, console) join Octopath Traveler on the same day.

A week before that, on March 18, NieR: Automata (PC), Torchlight 3 (PC), Star Wars Squadrons (PC), and Empire of Sin (PC, console, cloud) launch on Game Pass.

It’s a good time to be a Square Enix fan on Game Pass. All this is in addition to the recent Outriders on Game Pass announcement.
